Elaine Bell’s contributions to our nonprofit and business communities are too expansive to count. The caterer and culinary maven has been keeping us well fed for decades, especially at the Valley’s stellar fundraisers, which made her an obvious choice to become the Sonoma Community Center’s Muse on Saturday, Aug. 13.
This year, the party was adorably renamed aMuse as a nod to Bell’s long and delicious career with Elaine Bell Catering. She is not only the guest of honor, in true form, she’ll cater the party as well. While the entrees are being kept a secret, the following tasty treats will open and close the meal.
* Ahi tuna tartare in a crispy wonton cone with tiny diced dried mango, green olives, Korean chili threads, spicy aioli, toasted macadamia nut sprinkle.
* French onion soup with grilled cheese sandwich, with gruyere on sliced sourdough and savory caramelized onions and thyme
* Buttery shallot brioche, Mount Tam cheese, grilled Fuji apple chutney and fried sage leaf with Fauxscargot fingerling potatoes.
* Fingerling potato stuffed with oyster mushroom, garlic, parsley and browned Myokos butter.
The menu at the Dessert Party is simply sweet. The Marvelous Mini Donut Machine will be cranking out piping hot and freshly topped donuts, pillowy and decadent. The flavors will include Cinnamon and Sugar, Powdered Sugar, Vanilla Glaze, Chocolate Glaze, Rainbow Sprinkles, Sliced Almonds, Heath Bar and Mini Chocolate Chips. Also look forward to mini lavender creme brulees in assorted flavors.
The aMuse party takes place at the center on East Napa Street, and also includes an auction of exciting lots presented by the “Singing Auctioneer” Ellen Toscano.
Tickets are $225 for the full celebration, or $50 for the dessert-only after party. Visit sonomacommunitycenter.org/muse or call 707-938-4626, ext. 829 for more details.
