Showa, a Tokya dumpling manufacturer, has managed to offset losses caused by COVID-19 by installing vending machines, according to a report in The Mainichi.
The company, which supplied gyoza dumplings to around 1,000 ramen shops, restaurants and hotels, lost 30% of its sales after the pandemic struck. In response, the company began selling to supermarkets and direct sales outlets.
In June 2021, the company began installing vending machines in five locations, including at its main office. The machines are available 24/7.
